SG Private Banking India was delighted to partner with the India Art Summit, which was held from 22nd – 24th August '08 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The art fair was India's first industry platform for art and showcased the best and most comprehensive collection of Modern and Contemporary Indian Art till date in the country.
The fair was inaugurated by Hon'ble Minister of Culture and Tourism Ms. Ambika Soni through a lamp lighting ceremony. The fair has brought together 35 top galleries from India and overseas, who are collectively showcasing above 400 artworks created by over 200 artists. The variety of artwork on display includes paintings, sculptures, photography, mixed media, video, prints, installations and drawings.
The fair started with a special "Collector's Preview", and was attended by collectors from India and Dubai, Singapore, Shanghai, New York and London displaying considerable interest.
Some of the most prominent and acclaimed members of the Indian and international art fraternity attended the "Art Forum", a day long seminar on themes and issues pertaining to Indian art. The seminar saw a confluence of 19 highly acclaimed speakers from India and abroad addressing a gathering of more than 200 delegates from various parts of India and overseas, to share insights and discuss the future of Indian art.
